RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULT R.C.I.A classes continue this Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00 p.m. in the R.E. Building.  All candidates with their sponsors are expected to attend.  We thank Betty Cox for serving as Catechist and Juana Weisenberger for providing hospitality.  We encourage parishioners to volunteer for hospitality.  Anyone who can help should contact Carolyn O’Connor at 601-924-6073.   

 

WORLD MARRIAGE DAY next Sunday, February 12, is world marriage day in the Catholic Church.  We congratulate all those celebrating significant milestones in 2012.   A special mass with Bishop Latino will be celebrated at St. Richard’s at 12:30 p.m.  Special congratulations to our parishioners celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary- James and Dale Cannon and George and Caroline Hoff and to Jeff and Patricia Franks and Manny and Pam Fuentes who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. 

 

R.E. CLASSES We ask parents to make attendance to religious education class a priority in their child’s weekly schedule.  Children are required to attend classes in preparation for the sacraments and their regular religious formation. 

 

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will meet this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center.  All are invited to a sausage & biscuit breakfast this Sunday after the 9:00 mass.  Proceeds benefit Priest Education.

 

THE KC LADIES AUXILARY will meet this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center.  All Ladies in the parish are invited.

 

LITURGICAL MINISTERS LIST for February and March has been mailed out.  If you haven’t received yours please call Karen at 601-924-3337 or check the schedule in back of the church.  If you are unable to keep your commitment, please remember to find a substitute.

 

CATHOLIC DAY AT THE CAPITOL 2012 sponsored by Poverty in America Taskforce and Catholic Charities Office of Parish Social Ministry of Jackson and Biloxi, is February 29th at the Central High School Auditorium. CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS APPEAL will be taken up at all masses this weekend.  This collection works to support home mission dioceses in the United States by supporting seminarian formation in poor diocese.
